Bus to samara

On the bus on my way to Samara. One thing that I don't know if I've told you is that when you want to get off ( it can be wherever, there are no busstops) you just whistle at the busdriver and he will stop. Right now the weather isn't that good, but I'm hoping for sun.

Looking at old pics on my iPod, man I miss you girls! <3

No power

Yesterday they put off the electricity for all of nicoya so we ended school at 11 instead of 12. We decided to celebrate it with a pizza, but all pizza places were closed because of the lack of electricity so we couldn't really do that. Instead we bought food at a chinese restaurant and brought it all to my place. After we had eaten all of us went to the pool at my hostdads hotel because we just couldn't survive in the heat. Sara, Eddy, Pamela, Josue, Jose, Teefii and I squeezed ourselves into my hostmums car and Manfred and Gabriel took their bikes. We stayed at the pool for a couple of hours and then walked back home. In the evening I went dancing and after that I just watched tv with Jose until it was time to go to bed. He's my hostcousin from San Jose that is just here for this week to visit. Gonna miss him when he goes back home on Sunday.

Today I've had my first friday at home I think. I just ran to the pool with Jose after school and since that I've done nothing but feo all evening. Tomorrow we might go horsebackriding though, crossing my fingers. :)

Pics from the weekend

I've been a bad blogger these last days. A lot of things have happened, both good and bad. There is always a lot of drama for us exchange students, but I think you learn so much from it. Sometimes it's hard, but you grow as a person all of the time. I've only been here for two months and it's getting better all of the time. Everybody says that the first three months are the hardest and I can understand why. Adapting is hard, but once you've adapted you will not want to leave.

Anyways, I don't really have the energy to give you the story of saturday sunday and monday so I'll just upload pictures and give you some short and simple words. Beach-travestinight-the.most.gorgeous.part.of.samara.where.nobody.ever.is.-the exorcist-Beach-bus.It all equals a really good weekend. Buenas noches :)

Celebrating two months

Today I've been here for exactly two months, it's scary how time flies.

Lena and I have "hecho feo" today (means that we've done nothing special). We were supposed to go for a long walk in the forest but before we had gotten there Breidy called and so we went together with him to cafe D'melon. There we met Bea and her cousin, and later stephania and elis. We stayed there for a couple of hours and then went to the playground next to where I live with Elis and Stephania and took I think 240 beautiful pictures. As soon as I get them I will upload some (not all though).

Later Lena and I went back to the park and just sat there talking until Sara called and said that Manfred in our class wanted to do something so we went back to my house, hanged out with Sara, Manfred, Steven, Pamela, Gabriel, and a guy whose name I don't know on the sidewalk outside my house. We ordered pizza, ate, and just had a nice evening. Must say that I understand a lot more now when they're talking then I did before, yay.

When they had gone home Lena and I put on Bridesmaids and hicimos feo until now. Now it's 2:30 and we have got to sleep. Up early to go to samara tomorrow.

Lena and Emma

I've got to many of these pictures...

The breakbell rang - AN EARTHQUAKE!

The simulation of the earthquake today was fun. The bell rang and everybody thought it was lunchbreak, but then it just continued ringing so eventually, after like 15 seconds a guy says;
"Ahaaaa, it's an earthquake, everybody out!" Hahaha it was extremely real and we succeeded with evacuating the classrooms safely without running. Nobody got hurt this time, the principal didn't even get any bruises. But I don't think I would do the same thing if there was an actual earthquake.

After school I skyped with my family, had a blackberrymilkshake in Nicoya with my HF, took a walk in the forest with Bea and now it's time to go to bed.

Fear

Tomorrow we will start practising earthquake evacuation in school. Running is strictly forbidden.

Today the principal talked to the entire school in the aula again and it was quite cool because she knows every single student and mentioned the names of those who helped others in the earthquake, and we gave them all an applause and so. Haha she also said the names of the ones she saw running and screaming. I think it's so cool going to such a small school because everybody knows everyone and there's always a nice feeling, everybody's friends and are so nice. Love it.
